Smart Move’s Home Watch Services

  Smart Move Property Management provides daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly Home Watch services while you’re away, whether you’re gone for a few days or a few months. 


Peace of Mind


The most important aspect of Smart Move’s Home Watch services is the peace of mind it provides. Unoccupied homes can be prime targets for burglars and vandals. Our monitoring services provide you with peace of mind while you’re away and lets you focus on your priorities whether you’re away on business or on vacation. 


How it works: First, we determine the number of times you want your home personally checked. Then, we discuss your home and Smart Move will create a detailed list highlighting everything we will do at your property along with the date and time we were there. 


Below is a list of some of the items we check as part of the Home Watch service. You choose specific items relative to your home. Tasks can be added as needed.


  • Provide brief texts or emails in real-time detailing the status of your home.
  • Pick up papers from the driveway and any mail and packages and place them inside.
  • Perform an external walk around your home to ensure doors, screens, and windows are secure.
  • Check roof, chimney, gutters, and downspouts to ensure there are no obvious problems.
  • Check for evidence of unauthorized entry, vandalism, and weather-related problems, such as fallen branches, displaced patio furniture, etc.
  • Check for evidence of insects or rodents inside and around home.
  • Ensure garage is closed and secure.
  • Bring garbage can(s) in/out from curb. 
  • Ensure faucets/hoses are off.
  • Water plants or work with existing landscaping set-up.
  • Check for mold or unusual odors.
  • Check that all lights are working.
  • Walk through the inside of home ensuring all doors and  windows are secure.
  • Run all faucets, showers, garbage disposal, and flush toilets, checking for any leaks.
  • Visually inspect ceilings and walls to ensure there are no active leaks.
  • Check a/c and/or heater to ensure it is set for the correct temperature. 
  • Check breaker box for any tripped breakers. 
  • Confirm smoke/CO2 detectors are working as needed.
  • Monitor existing services such as landscaping, pest control, etc.
